For the past two weeks our 5th graders have been learning about biographies and autobiographies. Biographies are written text used to inform readers about a real person. This genre opens our eyes and hearts to people who have made a difference in the world and allows us to learn about lives and eras of both the past and present.
Currently, our 5th graders are working on their biography projects. For this project, our students must research a person of their choice and uncover information about their childhood, accomplishments, traits, challenges, and legacy. It has been my great pleasure to see how the students are conquering this topic. The students are truly demonstrating their knowledge of biographies and learning about influential and impactful people of the world. The best part of this project is that it brings out the student ingenuity, creativity, and curiosity. Join us on literacy night, December 5th, to see the students finished project.
