Choir

If you enjoy singing in the shower, around the house or anywhere, Choir may be for you. If you love to play guitar or piano, Choir may be for you.  If you are interested in acting in plays and musicals, Choir may be for you. Choir is a singing group where the goal is to blend as a group, not stand out. Being in Choir is like being on a team. We all work together to create something beautiful. Previous singing experience is not required, as learning how to use your instrument; the voice is part of the class. Also, Choir is a lot of fun.

This year, the APV Choir has grown so much. At the beginning of the school year, many members did not feel that they could sing. Many did not know how to read music. Now, they are all singing musically, expressively, and in tune. They are also reading and singing their parts by sight.

This year, the APV Choir has grown so much. At the beginning of the school year, many members did not feel that they could sing. Many did not know how to read music. Now, they are all singing musically, expressively, and in tune. They are also reading and singing their parts by sight. This is a very big accomplishment. I am very proud of each one of my Choir members and the growth that they have made as singers and as people. The Choir is now tackling some challenging songs for our spring concert. Please join us in May for our final concert of the year. You do not want to miss it.

Band

The ‘FRIENDS FOR LIFE’ symphonic band led by Mr. Justin Grubbs, he has spent the last two years working hard to grow and develop into a full concert band. Currently, the band is made up of 30 student musicians from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Since receiving a generous budget from our board of directors in 2021, we have been able to purchase several brand-new instruments, and are looking to grow in numbers. As APV expands, so will our band!

Our goals for the coming years are to begin competing in the UIL band circuit, as well as for students to participate in region band and other solo competitions. This program has received strong support from our board, the principals, teachers, and our community. We want to invite every student to become a proud member of our band. Please come to the front office and request more information.
